Government slammed for last minute knock back of TfL funding deal

TORY ministers must stop playing politics with Transport for London (TfL), unions demanded today as they warned yet another short-term funding deal will hit key services and the capital’s economic recovery. 

Today’s agreement between the Department for Transport and the city’s transport body will see funding arrangements extended by just five days to this Friday. 

It is the latest in a series of last-minute settlements to be imposed on the Labour-run city hall amid the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
