Red Devils see off Leeds in six-goal thriller
Manchester United's Harry Maguire celebrates scoring their side's first goal of the game

Leeds 2-4 Manchester United
by Dom Smith
at Elland Road

HARRY MAGUIRE headed Manchester United in front as they secured a fine 4–2 win at Elland Road. Leeds United had returned from a 2–0 deficit to level the game with two goals in a minute, but substitutes Fred and Anthony Elanga responded to earn the Red Devils their second win in five days.

It was the first time since October 2003 that Leeds “welcomed” Manchester United in the Premier League in front of fans. The deafening chants were a giveaway.

United have been the subject of so many unwanted stories in recent weeks, some of them true, some not. Captain Harry Maguire has been about as criticised as anyone in the red half of Manchester, owing to his dramatic drop in form since starring for England at the Euros.
