Sheerness docks strike end after workers defeat ‘fire and rehire’ threat
UNITE claimed victory today after bosses backed down over threats to fire and rehire striking dock workers in Kent.

More than 30 workers who process Volkswagen Group vehicles at the dock would have been affected by management plans to change minimum overtime hours by forcing new contracts on them, Unite had warned.
