NORWAY: At least 50 people in and around Oslo have contracted the omicron variant of Covid, and the cases are believed linked to a company’s Christmas party, officials say.
The Norwegian Institute of Public Health said that those affected live in Oslo and surrounding municipalities, and “the infection detection team in Oslo has contacted the municipalities concerned to start infection detection.”

LAOS: Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh rode on the first journey of a new 642-mile railway linking Vientiane to Kunming, capital of China’s Yunnan province, yesterday after having the train blessed by Buddhist monks.
The line is expected to massively boost trade between the two communist countries and is part of China’s Belt and Road project financing infrastructure in underdeveloped nations.
