THE co-operation deal between the Scottish Greens and the Scottish government has hit the headlines for a number of reasons. 

Most obviously, it is the first time Greens have been involved in national government anywhere in the UK and it cements the parliamentary majority for Scottish independence.

But the complete meltdown of politicians and commentators on the right is a pretty strong indication of just how momentous this agreement is for genuinely progressive politics.
