NETWORK RAIL could face industrial action over compulsory redundancies if its bosses do not enter talks, transport union TSSA said today.
The warning comes after the publicly owned infrastructure company said it plans to press ahead with a major restructuring programme, known as Project ACE, leading to the loss of almost 170 safety-critical jobs in Network Rail’s eastern region.
TSSA called for Project ACE to be paused pending the outcome of the national Rail Industry Recovery Group (RIRG) discussions and invoked Stage 2 avoidance of disputes procedures.
