Union slams train firm’s email stunt over bonus

TRANSPORT union TSSA has hit out at West Midlands Trains (WMT) for a “cynical and shocking stunt” that saw the company falsely promise post-pandemic bonuses.

The union has learned that on April 21, WMT sent an email from managing director Julian Edwards to about 2,500 workers thanking them for their hard work over the past year.

TSSA said that the email suggested they could expect a financial reward — but WMT was in fact tricking its employees to test IT security.
