CAMPAIGNERS condemned “fossil imperialism” today, demanding a halt to the much-criticised EastMed oil pipeline and appealing for support for Palestinian resistance to the project.
The Samidoun Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network said that the project, which will ensure gas is pumped from underwater Israeli oilfields to European Union states, is inextricably linked to the occupation of Palestine.
“Liberation struggles of the oppressed and exploited have always been struggles over material resources and over what relations humans should have with their natural environment,” the network said in a statement.
