Support for Welsh independence on the rise since the pandemic

THE number of people in favour of a Welsh independence has risen by 4 per cent since the pandemic, a poll revealed yesterday.

Plaid Cymru leader and member of the Welsh Parliament, Adam Price, said a new opinion poll on Welsh independence showed 25 per cent of the population want independence, up 4 per cent since a previous poll in January.

Mr Price said that Wales had “proven itself” through its independent approach to the coronavirus crisis and warned against returning to a political settlement which had “failed Wales.”
