Turkish forces and jihadists surround Kurdish towns as invasion continues
Turkey-backed 'Free Syrian Army' fighters head toward the Syrian town of Tal Abyad from Turkish border town of Akcakale, Turkey

SCORES of Kurdish civilians, including children, were killed and injured as Turkish forces and their jihadist allies closed in on the towns of Tel Abyad and Serekaniye in northern Syria today.

Nato’s second largest army began its invasion late last night after launching air strikes across the Syrian border. 

Troops flooded into the largely Kurdish region east of the Euphrates as Operation Peace Spring begun.
