Scottish Daily Mail forced to apologise over flights story
THE Scottish Daily Mail apologised to Labour MSP Claudia Beamish yesterday after falsely claiming she had taken a plane from the party’s conference in Brighton to attend a climate debate in Holyrood.
The paper printed that Ms Beamish had complained at a Labour conference fringe on the expansion of Heathrow Airport that sleeper train tickets to Edinburgh were too expensive.
She “explained she would be flying back” instead “despite her concerns for the environment,” according to the Scottish Daily Mail.
