Red weather warning issued for extreme heat and humidity
CLIMATE campaigners will target mining giant Anglo American at its annual general meeting in London tomorrow over the company’s “deceptive greenwashing” of its operations.
The company announced last year a “FutureSmart Mining” strategy last year, promising to change perceptions of sustainability across the industry.
The policy aso includes targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30 per cent and cut the extraction of fresh water in water-scarce regions by 50 per cent.
