12th National Women's congress opens in China

DELEGATES gathered for the 12th National Women’s Conference in Beijing today to discuss the influence of Xi Jinping Thought on the women’s movement.

President Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), attended the opening of the congress along with 1,637 delegates and 79 guests from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR).

Chair Shen Yueyue opened proceedings, saying that “women’s federations at all levels have taken Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as a guide,” making new contributions to the developments of the women’s cause.
