CONSTRUCTION workers in Turkey were attacked with tear gas today as they walked off a major Istanbul airport project in protest at poor working conditions after 17 workers were injured in an accident earlier this week.
Builders took action after failing to reach an agreement with IGA Airport bosses. The workers presented 15 demands including protection for strikers.
Management appealed to the workers, saying their voices had been heard but the issues would take time to resolve.
