ELECTIONS: The Scottish Refugee Council is urging all refugees in Scotland to register to vote before Monday night’s deadline.
People with refugee status will be able to vote in Scottish Parliament elections for the first time on May 6, though those still awaiting decisions on their asylum claims remain unable to vote.
The move also affects 2022’s council elections, with campaigners saying that everyone “should have a say” in how decisions are made.
