FORMER BHS owner Sir Philip Green was described yesterday as “much worse” than Robert Maxwell, the disgraced publisher who stole £400 million from the Mirror Group pension fund in the 1980s.
Senior Labour MP Frank Field branded Mr Green a “Napoleon figure” who is floating around on his yacht after orchestrating an “old-fashioned classical asset-stripping” which has blighted the future of 22,000 pensioners.
Mr Field, who chairs the work and pensions committee of MPs, said: “This person has plundered BHS and (fashion chain) Arcadia. The Arcadia group of companies — their pension scheme is now also in deficit.
