Maxine Peake signs artists' declaration demanding release of PKK leader Ocalan

MORNING STAR ambassador Maxine Peake has backed an “artists' declaration” calling for the freedom of Kurdish leader Abdullah Ocalan.

The actor is among artists, writers and creatives to sign the declaration demanding Mr Ocalan’s release from Imrali prison.

The leader of the banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has been held at the Turkish prison island for more than 20 years.
