A SENIOR Sri Lankan soldier who made slit-throat gestures towards Tamil protesters sought today to overturn his conviction under public order offences.
Brigadier Priyanka Fernando was filmed making repeated slit-throat gestures while standing guard outside the Sri Lankan High Commission in London in 2018.
Mr Fernando, who was Sri Lanka’s military attache at the time, was taken to court by three of the Tamil protesters in a private prosecution.
