Shopworkers launch Christmas campaign to urge against abuse of staff
Retailers have reported a rise in abuse of staff amid the pandemic, despite supermarkets calling for calm from shoppers

SHOPWORKERS launched a Christmas campaign today, urging the public not to abuse staff over the festive period.

A film by the Keeping Christmas Kind campaign, which urges people to “be kind to us this Christmas,” tells the stories of shopworkers who have faced abuse and violence.

Sammie, 32, has worked for the Co-op for 13 years. She says that violence and anti-social behaviour have spiked in the wake of Covid-19.
