Hundreds protest Poland abortion ban outside embassy in London

HUNDREDS of people gathered outside Poland’s embassy in London on Monday night to protest against new abortion laws.

Protesters filled the streets outside Portland Place in central London despite organisers cancelling the demonstration after the Metropolitan Police refused permission for the rally to take place, citing Covid-19 regulations.

The action follows a larger demonstration of over 2,000 people outside the embassy on Saturday against a court’s decision to impose a near-total ban on abortion in Poland.
