THE University of Manchester has withdrawn £2 million of investments in companies involved in Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestinian land.
The decision follows a determined campaign by students and Palestine Solidarity Campaign activists (PSC), though the university has denied that it was influenced by their actions.
The university’s divestment of shares includes those it held in Caterpillar, which supplies Israel with bulldozers and other heavy machinery used to demolish Palestinian homes and communities.
