Government to consider mesh implant compensation

THE Scottish government has confirmed that it will consider setting up a fund to support mesh-injured women after being quizzed by Lothian Labour MSP Neil Findlay.

Mr Findlay asked the SNP in Holyrood yesterday whether it would provide financial support for hundreds of women who have said that the implants have ruined their lives.

Vaginal mesh implants have been banned in Scotland since 2018 when the procedure was halted by the chief medical officer.
