Sinn Fein leader calls on Turkey to end war on Kurds
Sinn Fein president Mary Lou McDonald

SINN FEIN leader Mary Lou McDonald has written to Turkey’s ambassador to Ireland voicing her alarm after a criminal complaint was filed against exiled Kurdish politician Osman Baydemir .

Authoritarian President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was angered over the former People’s Democratic Party (HDP) MP for speaking out against Turkey’s invasion of Syria at a 20,000-strong London rally on Sunday.

Mr Baydemir — who already faces 117-years in jail in Turkey — referred to Mr Erdogan, asking the crowds: “Who is a terrorist, who is a dictator? Who kills the Kurds? Who kills children and women?”
