USDAW leaders urged female and ethnic-minority members to stand against the common enemy and fight for social equality today.
At the union’s equalities fringe meeting in Blackpool, which celebrated the 150th foundation of the TUC and the centenary of female suffrage, general secretary-elect Paddy Lillis paid tribute to female and ethnic minority workers.
Urging delegates to fight for “equality in society,” Mr Lillis called for unity “against the common enemy” and “people who want to keep the people that we represent down.”
