2016 was an utter bell end of a year for many reasons and certainly not one in which to be anything other than a ruling-class white man.

Perhaps that’s why these last 12 months have seen a tsunami of unashamedly feminist music and I feel so lucky to have witnessed so many awesome female musicians take centre stage.

We kicked off the LOUD WOMEN calendar at the Silver Bullet in Finsbury Park — an independent venue famous for supporting emerging artists, now sadly closed.
