South Korea: Ex-minister held by Park ‘corruption’ investigators
SPECIAL prosecutors investigating corruption allegations against South Korea’s president detained ex-health minister Moon Hyung Pyo yesterday.
They had two days to decide whether to secure a formal arrest warrant for Mr Moon, who is claimed to have pressed the country’s national pension fund last year to back a controversial merger between two Samsung affiliates.
As a result of the deal, the fund’s stake in one of the companies dropped in value by hundreds of millions of pounds.
