Deadly riots erupt in South Korea as Park impeached
Snap general election to be called ‘in days’ following ruling
SOUTH KOREA’S top court impeached scandal-hit president Park Geun Hye yesterday — sparking a deadly riot by her supporters.
All eight Constitutional Court judges voted to remove Ms Park three months after MPs — including dozens from her own party — voted to impeach her.
The ruling — backed by 70 to 80 per cent of Koreans— means a snap presidential election must be called within 60 days.
