North Korea: US carrier engages in drill with Japanese navy

THE US aircraft carrier heading for potential confrontation with North Korea took another detour yesterday, for training exercises with the Japanese navy.

Two Japanese destroyers joined the USS Carl Vinson and two other US warships in the Philippine Sea south of Japan for an exercise the US navy described as “routine.”

In response to the oncoming fleet, North Korea said yesterday that it is ready to strike the carrier to demonstrate its military strength.
