Xi tells Trump to keep his cool towards Pyongyang

CHINESE President Xi Jinping urged his US counterpart Donald Trump yesterday to tread carefully over North Korea.

Mr Xi and Mr Trump discussed the looming confrontation over Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile programmes by phone, China’s Xinhua news agency reported.

Mr Xi said Beijing strongly opposed any act that violates UN security council resolutions.
