Daughter of a steelworker bags new steel minister post

LABOUR turned up the heat on the government’s industrial failures last night — appointing Gill Furniss to a new post of shadow steel minister.

The new job was announced alongside a raft of positions firming up Jeremy Corbyn’s new front bench.

Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough MP Ms Furniss has made campaigning to save the British steel industry a top priority since she was elected in a by-election earlier this year.
