Syria: Fragile ceasefire comes under threat

SYRIAN rebels claimed that the fragile truce in the country was on its last legs as fighting continued.

Saudi-backed High Negotiations Committee (HNC) envoy and turncoat Syrian army general Assad al-Zoubi told Saudi-owned al-Hadath news that the truce faced “complete nullification” as the government continued to target opposition.

HNC general co-ordinator and former Syrian prime minister Riad Hijab wrote to UN general secretary Ban Ki Moon on Sunday accusing Syria and its Russian allies of violating the cessation of hostilities by attacking groups under its umbrella.
