Korea: Seoul reveals sanctions over North weapons tests

SOUTH Korea announced further sanctions on North Korea yesterday over its recent nuclear test and rocket launch.

The sanctions include a ban on financial dealings with 40 individuals and 30 organisations in North Korea and elsewhere whom Seoul said were responsible for the North’s development of weapons of mass destruction.

The announcement came a day after Pyongyang warned of pre-emptive nuclear strikes in response to the start of the largest-ever US-South Korean military exercises.
