Matt Wrack: ‘Get organised to beat expulsions of left’

ACTIVISTS must “get organised” to combat the wave of expulsions of leftwingers from the Labour Party, Fire Brigades Union general secretary Matt Wrack has said.

Mr Wrack, whose union reaffiliated to Labour in November, spoke at the Campaign for Labour Party Democracy’s AGM on Saturday after a member of the party’s national executive committee (NEC) said that over 30 members had recently been expelled in one region alone.

Scores of Jeremy Corbyn supporters have been chucked out by panels of the party executive, who have often cited their association with far-left “entryist” groups.
