VIETNAM’S ruling Communist Party has called for reforms and a stepped-up fight against corruption as it prepares for an upcoming party congress.
The calls were included in the draft political report released on the Communist Party’s website and in most daily newspapers yesterday as part of a public consultation.
The report said the country has recorded important achievements over the past 30 years, but it still faces problems with debt and low economic productivity, adding that more needs to be done to transform Vietnam into an industrial nation by 2020.
