CONSIDERED the enfant terrible of the wealthy New York family, bohemian socialite Peggy Guggenheim redefined the role of art collector and patron as she “discovered” and championed some of the most renowned artists of the 20th century.
Framed around a lost taped interview Guggenheim gave for Jacqueline B Weld’s authorised biography of her in the late 1970s, Lisa Immordino Vreeland’s documentary paints a fascinating picture of this colourful and avant-garde woman whose voracity for art was only matched by her all-consuming appetite for sex.
