Rail workers worried by NHS privatisation

RAIL workers called yesterday for action to be taken against the downgrading and privatisation of the NHS.

A motion at the TSSA union annual conference noted that the creeping privatisation in the NHS threatens its “free at point of use” ethos.

Gill Murdoch of Yorkshire North branch called on a future Labour government to “restore the NHS to its founding principles of a public service committed to the provision of healthcare and untainted by the drive to maximise profits.”
