MEN’S GOLF: Southport-born Tommy Fleetwood is the narrow pre-tournament favourite for the Canada Open that tees off in Caledon, Ontario tomorrow.
The 35-year-old, currently ranked as the world’s seventh-best player, is joined at the top of the betting odds by American Sam Burns and Sheffield’s world number four Matthew Fitzpatrick.
PGA Championship winner Aaron Rai, Justin Rose and Collin Morikawa are also in the 147-player field.
MEN’S CRICKET: Bangladesh cruised to an 86-run Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method win over Australia in Tuesday’s opening leg of their three-match one-day series in Mirpur.
Chasing a revised target of 277, the Aussies struggled to 191-9 with paceman Nahid Rana taking 4-41 from his 10 overs as the Bangladeshis secured only their second-ever win over the world champions in 50-over cricket.
Mirpur also hosts tomorrow’s second match.
MEN’S RUGBY LEAGUE: Warrington can extend their unbeaten run to six matches and move clear at the top of the Super League tomorrow evening if they avoid defeat in their game in hand at St Helens.
A win for the Saints will move them joint top with Warrington and Leeds, who don’t play until tomorrow when they visit Toulouse.
Tomorrow night’s action also sees third-placed Wakefield up against Wigan and Hull KR face York.
MEN’S DARTS: Josh Rock and Daryl Gurney defend the World Cup title for Northern Ireland when this year’s 40-team competition gets under way in Frankfurt tonight.
Luke Littler and Luke Humphries represent top seeds England but last year’s runners-up Wales are without Gerwyn Price when they begin their group matches against Lithuania.
Gian van Veen and Michael van Gerwen are the second-seeded Dutch team.
