Glasgow airport strike threats lifted as nearly 400 workers back inflation-busting pay rises
UP THE PRESSURE: Unite general secretary Sharon Graham

STRIKE threats at Glasgow airport have been lifted after nearly 400 workers accepted improved above-inflation pay rises from Menzies Aviation and ICTS, Unite has announced.

Some 230 ICTS security and passenger processing staff have backed a two-year pay deal including a 5 per cent increase in pay backdated to January 1, before another boost at 1 per cent above RPI inflation and improved terms and conditions from 2027.

About 160 Menzies Aviation ground services crew will receive a 4.4 per cent increase backdated to January, before pay increases of between 5 and 11.1 per cent from July 1.

Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “Hundreds of front-line workers at Glasgow airport have secured vastly improved pay deals.

“This is a direct result of the workers refusing to accept their employers’ pitiful pay offers and to fight for better pay which they successfully secured after the threat of strike action.”
