MEN’S CRICKET: Glamorgan claimed a first ever County Championship win over Surrey at their Sophia Gardens home after cruising to a seven-wicket victory on Monday.
Chasing 195 to win, opener Billy Root was run out in the first over before Colin Ingram hit an unbeaten 61 to see them home.
In Division One’s other fixture, Somerset and Warwickshire both missed the chance to move top of the table after playing out a draw.
HORSE RACING: All but one of Thursday’s meetings in England and Wales have been postponed due to the red and amber weather warnings issued by the Met Office.
Carlisle’s races are still due to go ahead, along with the meeting at Naas in County Kildare.
Thursday’s meetings at Nottingham and Newmarket have both already been rescheduled for morning starts. Races were last called off due to extreme heat in July 2022.
SPEEDWAY: Zach Cook top-scored with 16+1 points riding at number four and Brady Kurtz notched up 14+1 as Belle Vue crushed defending Premiership champions Ipswich Witches 62-28 in Manchester on Monday evening.
The Witches have yet to win away in the league this season.

BASEBALL: Eric Lauer threw six no-hit innings as the Los Angeles Dodgers won 2-1 at the Minnesota Twins this morning to become the first team to 50 wins in this season’s Major League Baseball.
They top the overall table by two games from Atlanta who lost 1-0 in San Diego with Milwaukee third after their ten-inning 2-1 win at the Cincinnati Reds.
