SECURITY staff at Aberdeen Airport have announced 14 days of strike action beginning on Monday amid an escalating pay dispute.
Despite recent disputes with ICTS Central Search and Aberdeen Airport Ltd workers being settled, their union, Unite, said it has yet to see an “acceptable” pay offer tabled from ICTS HBS (hold baggage screening) security.
After talks at conciliation service broke down without any movement from the company, whose parent group ICTS (UK) Limited saw its profit soar from £4.4 milllion in 2024 to £7.6m in 2025, the union announced workers would strike every second day from July 6 to August 1.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: “ICTS is a very profitable company that can easily afford to give our members a decent pay increase.
“It has been caught red-handed putting profits before people.”
Unite industrial officer Paula Buchan warned: “Strike action will cause significant delays at Aberdeen Airport.
“ICTS still has time to return to talks with an offer workers can accept.
“A failure to do so will result in significant airport disruption.”
Aberdeen Airport and ICTS were contacted for comment.
