OVER 830,000 people fell off the electoral roll last year when the Lib Dems changed the registration method, official statistics revealed yesterday.

The slump in the number of people registered to vote between 2013 and 2014 was revealed just four days before this year’s general election registration deadline on April 20.

Deputy PM Nick Clegg argued that replacing the old system, which relied on the “head of household” to register voters, was progressive.
