Wimbledon: Federer eases into quarters
Eighth title still on the cards for Swiss star

ROGER FEDERER ruined Independence Day for Steve Johnson yesterday by defeating the United States athlete in straight sets.

There were no fireworks on display from Johnson, who struggled to keep up with his Swiss opponent as Federer won 6-2 6-3 7-5.

The win drew Federer level with Martina Navratilova’s record of 306 victories in major competitions and he will stand alone if he overcomes Marin Cilic in the quarter-finals.
