ASLEF leader Mick Whelan called on the Tories to come clean yesterday and admit that breaking the unions is government policy.
In a passionate speech to the conference of the train drivers’ union, Mr Whelan highlighted Department for Transport civil servant Peter Wilkinson’s anti-union rant in February.
Mr Wilkinson told a public meeting that “we have to break” train drivers if they resist changes to working hours.
