Pro-Palestine supporters occupy Airbus HQ

PALESTINE solidarity activists occupied the Airbus headquarters in London yesterday in protest against the plane manufacturer’s links with Israeli arms companies.

London Palestine Action (LPA) campaigners blocked the building entrance, pushing senior executives to sit down and talk so the company staff could get to work.

The meeting was reportedly disappointing, with Airbus management making vague promises of looking into the issue.

LPA activist David said: “Israel is a state that violates the human rights of Palestinians every day and, by co-operating with it, Airbus is complicit in the on-going torture, murder and the occupation of land.

“Airbus writes on its website that ‘contributing to the wellbeing of the communities in which it works is an ethical imperative,’ but there is nothing ethical about profiting from Israel’s war crimes against the Palestinian people.”

Airbus is currently developing a type of drone together with Israeli Aerospace Industries.

Activists argued these drones are then “field tested” on Palestinian communities.
