Govia seeks injunction against train safety action
RAIL bosses were in court yesterday to seek an injunction against drivers who have been refusing to drive extra-long trains without guards.
As the Star went to press, Govia Thameslink Rail were attempting to stop Gatwick Express drivers from taking action against the expansion of driver-only operation.
New trains introduced on the route have been scheduled to run in 12-car formation without guards — a situation which drivers’ union Aslef says is unsafe.
