TRADE unionists were left incensed yesterday after the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) announced that it would not investigate police violence at the Battle of Orgreave.
For two and a half years the Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign (OTJC) has demanded an investigation into what happened on June 18 1984, when striking miners at the Yorkshire coke depot were attacked by baton-wielding cavalry and armoured riot police.
Campaigners vowed yesterday: “The fight for truth and justice goes on.”
