Protests erupt to protect rights of EU citizens

PRO-MIGRANT demonstrations were held in towns and cities across Britain last night as the Prime Minister formally triggered Article 50, the process which will see Britain leave the European Union (EU).

German teacher Ulrike Schmidt, who organised the demonstration, told the Star: “As a migrant who has lived here for 28 years, I felt the need to stand up and speak out for those who are suffering in silence.

“I am hoping that all of us together will put pressure on Theresa May and the government to change their attitude.
