TRANSPORT union TSSA have urged rail bosses to “see sense” as London Underground workers launched an overtime ban in a dispute over jobs and ticket office closures yesterday.
The union has slammed a ticket office closure and job cuts programme agreed by former mayor of London Boris Johnson as “ill-thought out and dangerous,” with workers reporting an increase in verbal and physical abuse from passenger since the closures began.
Plans closed up to 268 ticket offices and hundreds of job losses are anticipated with South Wimbledon and Queensway Tube stations the first to close in February 2015.
