Students penalised yet again as Tories restart loan sell-off
CASH-GRABBING Tories were accused of “pulling yet another ugly move on students” yesterday as the government revealed its plans to further privatise the student loan book.
Loans issued before 2012 and worth £12 billion to the public purse are planned to be sold under the proposals.
First to be sold will be the 2002-06 loan book, which had a face value of £4bn at the end of the 2014-15 financial year.
