JOHN McDONNELL has thankfully refocused attention from the ludicrous “traingate” to the real problems with our economy and society represented in microcosm by Sir Richard Branson.
Unfortunately Labour Party leadership contender Owen Smith has chosen not to join in and has lined up, as some prominent right-wing Labour MPs have, with the tax exile in claiming that all those reserved seats really were free for the taking.
Smith also focuses on the stripping of Establishment trinkets, missing McDonnell’s point that people such as Branson and BHS-destroying fat cat Sir Philip Green rake in baubles and plaudits from this country’s ruling class while taking us all for a very expensive ride.
